Abstract
In this journal article, the author points out that criminologists over the many decades have debated how violence impacts our society. Many in the field minimize the role of violence, only stressing interdependence and consensus as to the formula for social order. It was said that every member of society benefited from the existing social order. One must also note Internal force is only needed when the irrational or imperfectly social elements are needed to be restrained.
On the other hand, there is the opposite view that violence is the primary force that keeps society together. It was also noted that Inequality is unnatural and has to be maintained through force. Conflict and consensus theorists also debate the nature of the state.
Conflict theorists believe the state is controlled by an upper class and state power is an extension of the institution's force.
Consensus theorist believes no one controls the government, it's a collective will. State power is the consensus of the governed.
If the conflict is right, the state would have a heavy concentration of power in areas of inequality.
If the consensus is correct, then the state would only have to use force in areas where there is more violence?

Supremacy and Racial Domination. A belief that has been the foundation of many conflicts throughout the ages, it has since evolved into various forms that have obliterated generations of people and changed the course of history. This subject has dominated for centuries the idea that superiority rules. This book focuses on the white supremacy of the Criminal Justice System towards Black people in England and the US. Media Amplification is version of Labeling Theory it suggests that media coverage coincide with police actions not only distort perceptions about the nature of deviant behaviors, but it indirectly shapes that behavior. Through constant and bias stereotypes and also systematic harassment on those believed to be deviant or different in relation to anti-social behaviors and criminal activities. -Chapter 8.

Jamaica Constabulary Force [JCF] and Jamaica Defense Force [JDF] are arms of the government sanctioned to serve and protect the citizens of Jamaica. They all have individual duties and aims that are subjected to their specific organizations i.e., JCF and JDF. In Jamaica both are known to work hand in hand, although many would argue there is animosity between the two due to past history.
